Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009
This workout kicks butt! It took me a few days to get used to it. If you don't do the exercises correctly, you won't get complete credit for doing them. The people that are slamming this probably are not taking the time to figure out how to do the exercises correctly. Unlike Wii Fit, you can't cheat. Don't get me wrong, I love Wii Fit and used it in my workout for the last year but never felt like I was getting the workout I got in one day with Jillian. With Wii Fit I was lucky if I lost a pound a week. With Jillian, I lost 3 lbs in the first week. Everday when I finish a 30 minute workout, I'm sweating.
This wasn't intended to be a game so the graphics don't matter. What matters is that for the first time since I started trying to get in shape, I feel like I am really getting something out of my workout.
If your looking for a game or a workout game that you don't really have to work hard, you won't like this. If you are looking for a workout program to use with your balance board that will make you sweat, give this a chance. |
It works if you want it to!

| Ok, so, after reading most of these reviews, I wasn't too sure about this game. I had read about how bad the graphics are, and how the avtar didn't move the way you move. Here's what I have to say about that. I am not exercising for the graphics, nor am I exercising for my mii character. I am exercising to lose weight and become more healthy. I can tell you that the graphics do stink and there isn't much choice for personalizing your avtar, but I do get a great workout from this game. I'm sore in strange places, I get my heartrate up and I sweat. If you want it to help you, it will. You can cheat by just moving the remote and nunchuck, but that doesn't accomplish anything for your health. I do think that I get a better workout without the balance board. You can actually move more without the board, but I do use the board to weigh myself on. I reccomend this, if you're serious about wanting to exercise. If you want graphics, buy something else. Jillian kicks my butt everytime, but I have committed myself to allow her to do that. Don't be lazy, and it's well worth the money! |

| I have had this product for about 4 days. I have used it consistently the past two days. I chose high level for the first day, and medium the second day. I HURT ALL OVER!!! I have muscles I never new existed...I used to be a competitive swimmer. It is frustrating when the game does not register things I am doing, however, I sweated a lot and I am achy all over. I do not really care about the graphics at all, and they are not as horrible as what I have read. I enjoy the music and the workout is intense. |
Enjoyable way to Work out!

Ok, I admit....it's hard to figure out when you first try it. Once you watch the picture of the girl doing the exercise with the remote first, and just repeat what she is doing, it really is a good workout. You can't just do 5 minutes of it and expect to lose 20 pounds. However, if you really do jog in place (or I like to jog back and forth from the couch to the tv) and jump like you're supposed to, most of the workouts will get your heart rate up and you will sweat. That's the whole point of it all. But it is really easy to cheat on this. Since the remotes respond to just what you're hands and arms are doing, it's really easy to just move your arms around and cheat. DON'T DO IT! Get up and move that butt!!! The calorie burn calculated by the game is pretty accurate as well. My boyfriend has a heart rate monitor with a strap over the chest that is extremely accurate on number of calories burned and he tested it against what the game said. VERY close.
Anyway, I think that this is a good game overall. The best workout is just the jogging in place, the rail car pump, log jump, tire jump, and the cannon is pretty good too. All are pretty good workouts as long as you do it properly. Don't cheat! Make the effort and you'll feel it! |
Much better than others are saying

No, this isn't perfect, and yes there are things they could have done better.
BUT, I doubt many people are buying this for "fun" or just for great graphics. It is for working hard. While some of the activities take some time and practice to figure out just how to make them register with the Wii, you will get a great work out. Most of the "problems" that I read from other posters are more of a matter of taking the time to read ALL of the on-screen instructions, and watching your timing. If you do the action before you are supposed to, it won't show that you did it. Also, Jilliam gives both positive feedback (when you are doing and maintaing the activites well) and negative (when you aren't).
I have been using this work-out for about a 1.5 weeks, and it kicks my but every time. Heart rate up, sweat pouring off, feeling my muscles working, and the next day, still feel the workout.
I would only reccommend you buy this IF you want to work! |
